Astrid Busch’s works enter into a dialogue with concrete space, expanding it towards the fictional, creating new narratives in the viewer’s head. Busch’s work investigates irritations in perception and explores the contrasts between light and darkness, functional and dysfunctional storytelling, play and reality. What matters is the fissure between the binaries: split seconds of doubt and uncertainty, interspersed with cautious recognition and understanding.
For “Casting Clouds” Busch has created a site specific installation, consisting of photography, video, and installation, blurring the boundaries to a fictive reality.
The installation was inspired by the history of Deutsches Haus, and the current construction site surrounding it, construction material, as well as the ambiguity between the potential and the ruined.
Astrid Busch
Astrid Busch is a Berlin based artist, who currently lives and works in New York on a 1 year Studio Stipend by the Federal State of Berlin in partnership with Triangle Arts Association. She began her academic career at Akademie der bildenden Künste in Nürnberg and completed her MFA in Fine Arts at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee in 2003. Her work has been seen in solo shows at Delikatessenhaus Leipzig; Kunstverein Apex pro Art Göttingen and Galerie Alexandra Saheb Berlin. Selected group shows include Standpoint Gallery London; Stedefreund Berlin; Kunsthaus Erfurt; Kunsthaus Nürnberg; CGP London; Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart; Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien Berlin; Museum für angewandte Kunst Gera and Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft Nürnberg among others. She received the following grants: Studio Stipend by the Federal State of Berlin; Goldrausch Art IT Berlin; Käthe Dorsch Stiftung Berlin; Nafög by the Senate of Berlin; Aenne Biermann Preis Gera. Busch has participated in residency programs at Künstlerhaus Lukas Ahrenshoop; Triangle International Workshop Program NY and Gropiusstadt Berlin.

Annette Gödde
Annette Gödde lives and works in Berlin. After finishing her Studies in Fine Arts at Kunsthochschule Kassel in 1996 she starts working as Artist in different medias like video, installation and photography. Her work has been shown in a wide range of museums and galleries, including Kunsthalle Schirn Frankfurt, Kunsthalle Bremen, Kunsthalle Mainz, Landesmuseum Emden, ZKM (Nancyhalle) Karlsruhe, Gallery Anita Beckers Frankfurt, Collection Essl Vienna, Glassbox Paris, NBK Berlin, Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin. She also participates in media festivals, such as European Media Arts Festival Osnabrück, and the Video and Film Festival Kassel.
She received grants like a one-year-residency in New York by the Federal State of Berlin, a work grant by Karen und Uwe Hollweg Stiftung Bremen, public film funding by Nordmedia Niedersachsen, a project grant by the Senate of Berlin.

Chelsea Knight
Chelsea Knight was born in Vermont and lives and works in New York. She received her B.A. from Oberlin College and her M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Knight recently completed residencies at the Whitney Independent Study Program and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was a 2007 Fulbright Fellow in Italy. She was a 2010-2011 resident at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace program and is a 2012 resident at Triangle Arts Association in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Solo exhibitions include: The St. Louis Art Museum, Abrons Art Center, New York, Momenta Art, Brooklyn, Night Gallery, Los Angeles, Julius Caesar Gallery, Chicago, and The University of Syracuse, NY. Knight has exhibited and screened her work in group shows including the Young Artists' Biennial, Bucharest, the 10th Annual Istanbul Biennial, Werkschauhalle Gallery, Leipzig, the Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Biella, Italy, Harvard University, Art in General and the Kitchen, NY, and upcoming at the Bard Center for Curatorial Studies. She was a Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Fellow at the Sam Fox Graduate School of Art, Washington University in St. Louis in 2011-2012.

Heike Gallmeier
Born in Berlin in 1972, Heike Gallmeier studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Mainz and finished her studies in the master class of the sculpture department at the Art Academy Berlin-Weissensee. She lives and works in Berlin. Gallmeier received the Art Award Junger Westen of the City of Recklinghausen, as well as grants by the Berlin Senate, the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and the Werkleitz Centre for Media Art. Currently she is staying in Jerusalem with a residency by Goethe-Institut, Bezalel-School of Art and Schir-Art Concepts.
She took part in shows such as History will repeat itself (HMKV Dortmund and KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin), New Frankfurt Internationals (Kunstverein and MMK Frankfurt) and Machines for Living (Yaffo 23, Jerusalem).
Astali / Peirce
Astali / Peirce have been collaborating since 2000, when they met on the graduate program at Chelsea College of Art in London, UK. They have since shown their collaborative work, consisting of sculptures, drawings, photographic prints, as well as sound and video installations, throughout Europe and North America.The work by Astali / Peirce has been seen in solo shows at Autocenter, Berlin, Petra Rinck Galerie, Düsseldorf, La Centrale, Montreal. Selected group shows include Kunstwerke, Berlin (2003), De Vleeshal, Middelburg NL (2011), Märkisches Museum Witten (2011). Tolia Astali was born in Tbilisi, Georgia where she followed a classical art education. She continued her education at the Academy of Fine Art in Mainz (Friedemann Hahn) and the Chelsea College of Art, London. Dylan Peirce was born in Paris, France with a South African background. His art training was followed mostly in England at the John Moores University in Liverpool and subsequently at the Chelsea College of Art, London. Astali/Peirce live and work in Berlin, Germany.

Max Sudhues
Max Sudhues, born 1977, is a Berlin based artist. He studied at the Academy for Fine Arts Münster, with Guillaume Bijl and Timm Ulrichs, completing his MFA in the Fine Arts in 2004. At Städelschule Frankfurt am Main he spent a guest semester with Thomas Bayrle and finished his education with two years of postgraduate studies at the HISK (Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten) in Antwerp and Ghent in 2007. His work has been exhibited in solo shows at S.M.A.K. Ghent, Christian Lethert Gallery Cologne and Kunstverein Wiesbaden amongst others. Selected group shows include Santral Istanbul, Kunsthalle Münster, Ludwig Forum Aachen, Museum Dhont-Dhaenes Deurle, Beursschouwburg Brussels, Samsa Berlin, Light Art Biennial Ruhr. He received grants from the DAAD, Kunststiftung NRW, and Transfer Turkey-NRW. He was awarded with prices from the GWK Münster and the winner of the 17th competition "Kunststudenten stellen aus" at Kunstmuseum Bonn.
Max Sudhues has participated in residency programs at Künstlerhaus Lukas Ahrenshoop, Matucana 100 Santiago de Chile and in Istanbul/Izmir.
